Booking

By finalizing a booking through Aenaos Rent a Car’s website, the user becomes legally bound to the provision of car rental services by the company. The booking confirmation is automatically sent to the customer, once the required prepayment of €40 is completed.

Booking Confirmation

After a booking request is submitted, the user receives an automated reply immediately. The final confirmation or rejection of the booking follows within 24 hours, in accordance with the availability.
The user must verify the accuracy of all information in the final confirmation. Any errors must be reported immediately, as late notification does not give the right of withdrawal.

Extension of Booking

If you wish to keep the vehicle longer, you may request a booking extension. To serve you properly, we require at least 24 hours’ notice before the originally agreed return time.

The company also has the right to terminate the contract immediately and without notice if it determines that the terms of use are violated, the company’s interests are at risk, or traffic laws are breached.

Booking Cancellation - Cancellation Policy

For online bookings, the following refund conditions apply:

  1. You may cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the originally agreed pickup time. In this case, the prepayment is fully refundable and the refund process is completed within 7 - 10 business days.
  2. The prepayment is non-refundable if upon arrival the renter does not meet the rental requirements (age, driver’s license, etc.).

Important: Cancellations must be sent exclusively via email to info@aenaosrentacar.com in order to be considered valid.

Driver Age Limits

Vehicle rental requires the driver to be from 23 to 72 years old with a valid driver’s license issued at least 2 years prior.
Drivers aged 21 - 22 years old and drivers over 72 years old can rent a car with an additional daily insurance fee of €5.

Pickup - Drop-off

  • Airport delivery: Free
  • Delivery within Thessaloniki city limits: €10 extra
  • >Delivery outside Thessaloniki city limits: €20 extra (plus VAT) + €0.40/km

The renter must return the vehicle to the agreed location and to an authorized employee, in the same working condition and completeness (including all accessories).
Returning the vehicle to an unauthorized person or incorrect location without company personnel may be considered abandonment.

In the event of no-show without prior written or telephone notice (except for force majeure, such as flight delays), Aenaos Rent a Car may cancel the reservation after 3 hours, with no refund or credit.

Adding a second driver is free. Adding a third driver costs €5 per day, provided that the driver is over 21 years old.

Early Return

Early drop-off is allowed at any time, however unused rental days are non-refundable.

Renter Obligations

A. During the rental, the renter must:

  1. Ensure proper care and maintenance of the vehicle, including oil, water, and tire pressure checks.
  2. Ensure the vehicle is locked and secured when not in use.
  3. Pay for fuel.
  4. Acknowledge that the company is not responsible for loss or damage to personal items left in or on the vehicle.

B. Financial Obligations & Charges

The renter must pay:

  1. The total rental cost (credit/debit card or cash upon pickup).
  2. Late Return Fee: €5 per hour beyond the agreed return time.
  3. Cleaning Fee: Minimum €50 for biological cleaning if the car is returned with sand or tar stains on the seats.
  4. Tire Repair Cost: For damage caused by driving on non-paved roads.

C. Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle

Strictly prohibited uses include:

  • Commercial transport of passengers or goods
  • Exceeding passenger capacity
  • Transport of illegal or dangerous materials
  • Towing another vehicle
  • Participation in racing or testing
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs
  • Driving by a non-authorized driver
  • Driving outside Greece without written approval
  • Off-road driving
  • Any activity violating Greek law

D. Traffic Violations & Fines

The renter is responsible for all fines (traffic violations, tolls) incurred during the rental, even if they are issued afterwards. An additional €10 administrative fee applies.

Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all vehicles. Violation incurs a minimum €150 charge for cleaning and damage restoration.

Insurance

The rental package includes full coverage insurance, covering both third-party damages and damage to the rental car, including accidents, theft, fire, and natural phenomena.
Coverage is valid only if the renter follows the Traffic Code and is not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Otherwise, all damages are fully charged to the renter.

Lost or Damaged Keys

We would like to inform you that in case of loss or damage to the keys, there is a replacement cost. The amount is €150 for small–medium category vehicles and €250 for family vehicles and SUVs, so that you can continue your trip without delays

Accidents or Other Incidents

  • Roadside assistance covers all our vehicles throughout the entire Greek territory
  • In case of an accident, the renter must immediately notify the company within 24 hours, call the police (100), avoid admitting fault, collect witness information, and sign all accident reports which must be submitted to Aenaos Rent a Car upon return.
  • The company bears no responsibility in the event that the engine cannot start due to a forgotten active electrical device. In this case, the responsibility lies solely with the renter.

The following do not entitle the renter to a replacement vehicle:

  • Tire repair (repair or replacement of a tire in case of driving on unauthorized roads)
  • Damage to the radio
  • Problem with the lighter (12-volt). For assistance, you may contact the 24-hour Roadside Assistance service.

The company is not liable for accidents or damage resulting from:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medications that affect your driving abilities.
  • Violation of the terms of use, including driving on unsuitable or unauthorized roads (off-road).
    In all the above cases, the renter bears full and exclusive responsibility and is fully liable for all consequences.

Wrong Fuel

Please pay special attention: Using the wrong type of fuel (e.g., diesel in a gasoline-powered vehicle) causes serious damage. In this case, the renter is charged with the full cost of the repair.

Mechanical Failure

In case of mechanical failure, the company may replace the vehicle within up to 48 hours.

Driver’s License

Accepted licenses:

  • EU countries
  • USA
  • Australia
  • Canada

If you do not have a driver’s license with Latin characters, you must present an international driver’s license or present your driver’s license together with an official sworn translation of it. For all other countries, an international driver’s license is required in order to proceed with the vehicle rental. The renter must carry valid identification documents (passport or ID card). In case the required documents are missing or only copies are provided, the company is not obliged to proceed with the rental nor to refund any payment.

Late or Missing Return

If the renter returns the vehicle at least three (3) hours later than the agreed time and at the agreed location, without prior notice, they will be charged an amount equal to the cost of one (1) additional rental day for that specific vehicle.
If the renter does not appear at all to return the vehicle and more than eight (8) hours have passed since the scheduled return time, Aenaos Rent a Car reserves the right to notify the competent authorities. In any case, the company reserves its right to claim compensation for any actual and consequential damages it may suffer.

Payment Methods

The total cost of the rental can be paid in cash, via bank transfer or by credit card, or by debit card accepted by Aenaos Rent a Car. According to current tax legislation, for amounts over €500, payment must necessarily be made through a banking method (credit/debit card or bank transfer).

Fuel Policy

The renter is required to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel it had at the time of pickup. If there is a shortfall, the difference will be charged according to the refueling scale, which is €15 per unit on the graded fuel gauge. If the vehicle is returned with more fuel than it had when delivered, the difference is neither refunded nor compensated.

Child Seats

The provision of child seats is subject to reservation with an additional charge of €12 (for the entire rental period). The customer assumes full financial responsibility for any wear, damage, or loss of the seat, with a charge amounting to €120.

Snow Chains

The provision of snow chains is subject to reservation with an additional charge of €15 (for the entire rental period). The customer assumes full financial responsibility for any wear, damage, or loss of the snow chains, with a charge amounting to €55.

Toll Transceiver

The provision of a toll transceiver is subject to an advance reservation. The rental charge is set at €30 (for the entire rental period), plus the actual toll expenses, which are paid by the renter to the company at the end of the rental upon returning the vehicle. In case of loss or damage to the device, a €40 fee is applied.

Vehicle Availability

Due to availability issues, the company may provide a different vehicle, as long as it is of the same or higher category.

Vehicle Transport

Transporting the rented vehicle to islands within Greek territory by ferry is permitted only as an exception and only after prior written consent from Aenaos Rent a Car. Transporting the vehicle without permission constitutes a serious violation of the terms.

Taxes

All prices listed on the Aenaos Rent a Car website are final and include Value Added Tax (VAT) as well as all legal fees. No hidden or additional charges apply.

Pricing Policy

All prices listed are indicative and may change without prior notice.
Only the prices shown on our website at the time of booking are binding.

GPS Tracking Technology

To ensure vehicle and user safety and to protect legal interests, all of our vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking.
Activation occurs in specific cases (e.g., suspected theft, non-return, inability to contact renter).
Severe contract violations may result in loss of insurance coverage.
The legal basis for this processing is the legitimate interest of the company, as defined in the applicable data protection legislation.

Jurisdiction

Any dispute arising from or related to the rental agreement falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Thessaloniki.
